So I made a pretty big move recently. I have left the confines of sweet home chicago and I am now a resident of the lovely state of Oregon. I made my way out here with three friends of mine: John and Amanda Stockman and Jeremy Reeves. We have a little house in the Southeast part of portland. Apparently it used to be called Felony Flats, but apparently all the felons were kind enough to move north east of us. So I think I’ll rename it Misdemeanor Manor (copyright pending). It’s actually pretty quiet here and the rent is super cheap, so we’ll call it home.
The drive out here was incredible. It took us 41 hours with a few hours stops in between. We were dead tired once we arrived, but then we had to unload before actually getting to bed. Outside of that, it was absolutely beautiful. Seeing the landscapes change and the wide open spaces… such a difference from the packed in feel of Chicago. You feel like you can breathe out here. When we were entering the state of Oregon, we came through these dramatic hills… the sun was just beginning to set and we were passing the Columbia River (I think). Just breath-taking!
